Ticket prices increase to the Philippines

Only a few weeks to go, on October 26th we will fly back to the Philippines. When I booked the ticket I noticed that ticket prices from Germany to the Philippines had increased dramatically. All major Airlines like Emirates, Qatar or Cathay Pacific had rised their prices by up to 200,-€! Only Golf Air and Kuwait Airways kept their prices at a normal level. I booked with Kuwait this time, the price for the Balik Bayan or Ethnik Ticket was 725,-€uro to Manila. I managed to book a connection fligt to Cebu with Cebu Pacific for only 25,-€uro each, including all add ons! That's fair. I just hope we can make it in about 3 hours after arrival at NAIA's Terminal 1 to the brand new Terminal 3, well on the other end of Manilas International Airport. If not, I guess I have to stay at least one night in Manila which I don't like.
However, I've heard, that there are some "closure times" at Manila and Cebu Airport starting in September, so that all Airlines had to adjust their flying times into Cebu and there are no flights after 8:00 pm anymore.

How come you didn't hear from them? I underlay them with a link for you. They might not be the best airlines as far as onboar services concern but I hope they will bring me there anyway.

Hi!
My name is Constantine. I’m from Ukraine.

I see you live from time to time in the Phillipines. Me and my girlfriend going to live in Palawan for several months. We don’t like to do nothing so we decided to make a small business - to build a tourist boat. Did you think about this? Is this reasonable decision? Can we earn ome money, enough to live an travel? How much money approximately we need to live in the Philippines for 5-6 month as minimum?
Thank you!

by the way, do you know how much it costs to build a boat like this one?

To build a boat like that will be about 30.000,- to 50.000 Peso i guess plus motor.
However, you can also buy this boats ready made or second hand on every corner of the Philippines for a good price.
It will be difficult on the other side to make money with that, because you are not allowed to work as a foreigner unless you are married to a Filipino.

and how much aproximately costs motor(engine)? and what if the captain and captain's assistent will be filipinos?

The Wanderer said...

Depends on the motor, would say from 10.000 Peso upwards.
If you want to employ a Filipino, you would have to set up a company first and that is difficult. In all other cases you or your company/boat is illegal and that's risky in the Philippines.
How about if you make a holiday in the Philippines first and ses the situation first hand? You can not start a business there over the internet.

Hi. I just want to ask what is the best way to keep money in the Philippines and to get money from Europe?
is it USD-Visa or USD-Mastercsrd? Or maybe something else?

Master or Visa Card is the best. If you stay longer, you can also open an account in the Philippines and transfer your money there but you'll need an "Alien Certificate of Registration" (ACR) from the Immigration office.
